Christmas Dress 2025

 Merry Christmas, everyone!

This year, I made a dark green jumper for my Christmas dress. I've sewn red dresses for the past few years, and decided it was time for something different.

I was inspired by an outfit that Anne Shirley wore in the movie Anne of Avonlea:

I liked the V-neck and buttons on her vest and incorporated them into my design.

The buttons are simply sewn onto the front; they are not a closure.

I enjoyed the lack of zippers in this dress during the sewing process, ha. It slips over the head, and ties in the back.
This was a quick and easy make - the entire dress took maybe 4 hours! A friend and I got together over Zoom and made it at the same time. It was fun to show her how to sew it without a pattern, and she went on to make another version of the dress all by herself!

Thanks for reading today!
God bless your New Year.
Lillian

p.s. My book, The Lawman's Daughter, is now available in E-book form on Amazon!
